Here’s a story that’s very *twenty-first century*. In 2021, Madelyn decided to go out to a party with some friends…which was a little out of her norm. At this party, there were people Leo knew through school and other friends. Of course, Instagram’s algorithm, always knowing what’s up, recommended Leo for Madelyn to follow. She thought he was too cute. She did what anyone would do—followed him, slid into his DMs, and they messaged back and forth for a few weeks. They bonded over music, food, exersice and travel, core tenets that are foundational to their relationship todayAfter Madelyn made her intentions known by flirting very obviously over IG messages, Leo gathered the courage to ask her out on a date. They went to Silla del Torro in Marietta Square, a Spaniard influenced restaurant. They talked for hours, and didn’t realize how long theyd spent together until the restaurant was closed and they had to leave. Since that night, they’ve been inseparable. Thank you, IG!

Three years into their relationship, Madelyn and Leo were planning their first trip abroad—to the southern region of Spain. For Madelyn, it was her first time leaving the US, and Spain holds a special place in Leo’s heart and family. They flew into Madrid on April 19th, 2024—just so happened to be Madelyn’s 25th birthday. Love!!!They explored Madrid and took a train to Seville — which is seriously the most magical place ever. In Seville, Leo just happened to have planned a private tour of the Real Alcazar, the Cathedral, and El Torre Giralda. These places are absolutely breathtaking. The Cathedral holds some of Christopher Columbus’ remains, and the Real Alcazar boasts a rich history of Muslim and Christian rule in Seville. Oh, and by the way, The Garden of Dorne in Game of Thrones was filmed in the Gardens of The Real Alcazar. (Yes, in case you forgot, Dorn is Madelyn’s maiden name—the perfect setting!).As they wandered through the Garden of Dorne, Leo got down on one knee and asked Madelyn to spend the rest of their lives together. Of course, she said yes! It was, without a doubt, the most special engagement in the most special place.
